Air System
The air system on each vessel consists of three air rails, connecting pipe work and a fan unit. The fan unit is of stainless steel construction, 600mm in diameter, powered by a 4.0 KW electric motor running at 2900 rpm, and using approximately 7 amps. The air system evenly distributes oxygen throughout the material in the clamp feeding micro-organisms, allowing aerobic activity and creating heat. The patented design of the air ducts is very difficult to block, air keeps the material close to the duct dry and its design does not have any holes on the top surfaces to block up. The ventilation air is circulated within the system containing any odours from the composting process.
